We will explore the biochemical pathways used for the catabolism of carbohydrates and other organic molecules, explaining the mechanisms by which bacteria and Archaea produce and harness energy. Ultimately, you will learn to apply this metabolic knowledge directly to the biochemical identification and characterization of different microorganisms.
